A semi-truck, engulfed in flames on the side of the 10-W. This seems to happen quite often here, and it's fantastic to see every single time. Nobody seemed to flinch at the sight of the monstrous blaze, let alone concern themselves with the billowing smoke or the cavalier attitude exhibited by the police. The cars surrounding us on the road crammed together, almost like they were a herd of metal animals squeezing together for warmth. The tight knit gridlock gave off a convoluted sense of familiarity with the neighboring vehicles. It's a strange sensation meeting eyes with someone on the freeway, let alone be parked next to them within yards of a burning vehicle. The California freeway has made a mythos for itself.
